Wood Projects
During my time at Edinboro I developed a passion for wood furniture design and craftsmanship. I’m inspired by the process of building by hand — focusing on material, detail, and form to create pieces that are both functional and visually refined. Through these projects, I explore the connection between design, making, and the timeless character of wood.
A pair of end tables created in Fall 2025 during a Wood Furniture II course. The goal was to create two pieces using the same cut list, with one key differentiator. For my differentiator, I designed one table with an overhanging tabletop and one without. I used a 5-degree angle on the legs to create the hexagonal shape and joined the pieces using floating tenons.
An end table and mirror created in the Fall of 2023 during a Wood Furniture I course. Both pieces were created using mortise and tenon joinery.
A wall-hung shelving unit created in Fall 2025 during a Wood Furniture II course. I used bent laminations in a vacuum bag to create the curved shelf shapes. I then completed a large glue-up and used a bandsaw to shape the backboard. The piece is mounted using a French cleat that I made and attached to the back.
